Welcome, stranger.

You have stumbled on Jade Mitchell, Writing- my personal blog and online archive of rants, ideas, short stories and inventively combined cuss-words.

This is what I write when I’m not doing important corporate copywriting and content strategy, or working on this century’s ‘greatest novel’ (if you’re to believe the naked homeless man I paid with a can of baked beans to proof read the first 8 chapters).

If you’ve made your way here looking for examples of my portfolio work. allow me to gently guide you away from this URL, and towards this one instead.

It’s much less sweary and I don’t diss Coldplay as often.

Sure, you can contact me for copywriting, content strategy, blogging and PR work… or just hang out here for a while, read a few blog posts and hopefully get a good cackle out of them.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous (and/or drunk)- why not sample a short story or two?

Take your shoes off, put on your fat pants, have a riffle through the bathroom cupboard and make yourself at home.

  1. I stumbled across your blog on Friday after searching for Banting bullshit on Google. I am so delighted to have found you. You have entertained me through my entire lunch hour today. Keep up the hilarious work!

  2. Hi Jade,

Just wanted to let you know I admire your writing and find your prose and perspective extremely entertaining. It’s especially motivating to see someone working in the marketing/corporate industry keeping their creative writing alive and thriving, and sharing it at large.

    You’re also funny as fuck.

    Warm regards,

  3. Hi Jade. I find your writing very entertaining. And I’ve only read one piece. So far. It seems like you’re busy and employed. But I’m looking for a writer like you. Yes, not just a headline writer but someone who loves writing. But we’re in Cape Town.

    • Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the comment. I do actually love CT (although perhaps yesterday’s post didn’t make that clear enough up front) and as a full time freelancer I’m always on the lookout for work opportunities. I’ll contact you at your email address πŸ™‚ Thank you for reading.
